LESSON 17 - 13/10/2015

LESSON 17

Brief description about the class

Firstly, in this lesson we did some phonetics translations to practice a bit. Also, according to phonetic, the professor showed us the different accents we can find in a word, like descendent accent or ascendent accent.

Afterwards, the professor taught us what a tongue twister is and some examples of it. He explained us too what rhymes are and how we can use it, and song and how we can use it to teach children.

Finally, he showed us some examples of rhymes and songs.

What I've learnt

I have learnt a lot of things in this lesson, like for example how to introduce new grammar or new vocabulary in a funnier form. With this type of strategies or methods like tongue twister, rhymes or songs, we can get that students learn easily and have a meaningful learning.

Also, I have learnt a lot about phonetics, because before that nobody taught me anything about this topic, its accents, how it is represented...

So, I find this type of activities are very interesting and useful for teachers.

My personal opinion

I found this class quite funny. I enjoyed a lot in it. I thought this class has been very interesting too, because it shows us how we can teach everything in another form different from the traditional form. So, with this techniques and methods, we can teach what we want like grammar, vocabulary...in a funnier form and our children will learn it quite easily.

So, this type of class is very interesting and useful to us.
